EVENT DESCRIPTION

When a taxpayer has unpaid tax debt the IRS and the State of Maryland Comptroller, the law requires enforcement collection action against the taxpayer. The most common collection actions are tax liens and levies. A tax lien protects the government's interest in all of a taxpayer's property, including real estate, personal property and financial assets. A tax levy seizure of a taxpayer's property to satisfy a tax debt.
A light dinner and networking session will start at 6:00 pm, followed by a one hour training. There is no fee for this training but all participants will be asked to take a Tax Collection case within the next six months. Please contact Janice Shih at 443-451-4061 for more information. The training is designed for those who with basic tax controversy experience, although all are welcome.

EVENT OBJECTIVE

Advance training on how to discharge property from a tax lien, subordinate a tax lien on real property as well as withdraw a tax lien. The instructor will discuss advanced tactics for levy collection alternatives such as installment agreements, offers in compromise, and currently not collectible status. Additionally, representation of taxpayers in Collection Due Process Hearings with IRS Appeals and in the United States Tax Court.
