Dan has been an Enrolled Agent and a member of the Society since 1989. He has served on both the Full Seminar Committee and the Membership (now Membership and Marketing) Committee for most of that time. He is proud to have served in the United States Air Force for six and a half years. He transitioned to private life as a Branch Manager in the Banking Industry where he worked for 11 years. He began working in tax preparation in 1986 working for a national chain and then for a private practitioner before going out on his own as a Sole Practitioner. For 12 years he managed his own Tax and Accounting Practice in Clinton, Maryland. In 2001 he became Controller of a National, Taft Hartley, Trust Fund for an International Union. He made an attempt at retirement near the end of 2015 but could not handle the schedule so he returned to the work force in October 2016 as the Comptroller of a different International Union. Dan is proud to have been a Lion since 1978 where he has served in every Club Office including two terms as President and most years as Treasurer. Recently, Dan has begun volunteering at the Greenwell Foundation where he assists with therapeutic, equestrian riding lessons. Dan lives in Mechanicsville, Maryland with his wife, Helen, where they raised their son and daughter. They have three (3) grandchildren.
