Dan has been an Enrolled Agent and a member of the Society since 1989. He has served on both the Full Seminar Committee and the Membership (now Membership and Marketing) Committee for most of that time. He is proud to have served in the United States Air Force for six and a half years. He transitioned to private life as a Branch Manager in the Banking Industry where he worked for 11 years. He began working in tax preparation in 1986 working for a national chain and then for a private practitioner before going out on his own as a Sole Practitioner. For 12 years he managed his own Tax and Accounting Practice in Clinton, Maryland. In 2001 he became Controller of a National Supplemental Unemployment Fund for the Sheet Metal Workers International Union. He made an attempt at retirement near the end of 2015 but returned to the work in October 2016 as the Comptroller of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades from which he has now also retired.  Dan is proud to have been a Lion since 1978 where he has served in every Club Office including two terms as President and most years as Treasurer. Recently, Dan has begun volunteering at the Greenwell Foundation where he assists with therapeutic, equestrian riding lessons. Dan lives in Mechanicsville, Maryland with his wife, Helen, where they raised their son and daughter. They have three (3) grandchildren.
