Phyllis Burlage graduated from Loyola College of Maryland in May, 1980 and was licensed as a CPA in February of 1981. While she has since retired her CPA license, she has spent her professional career as a small practitioner, providing accounting, tax, and financial services to businesses and individuals in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington D.C. A Past President of M.S.A., she currently serves on the Society's Education Committee and has been Chair of the Committee on Professional Regulation since it was created to monitor the effect of national, state and local regulation on the practice of accounting in Maryland. In that capacity, she has testified before the Maryland State Legislature, and represented the Maryland Society of Accountants with the NSA, the NASBA, the AICPAs, and the Washington DC UAA Task Force. Phyllis is committed to the NFIB and serves on the Maryland Leadership Council. She has testified for NFIB before the U.S. House Committee on Education and Workforce.
