A. J. Stagliano is Professor of Accounting in the Erivan K. Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Educated at the Universities of Pennsylvania (B.S., WhartonSchool), Michigan (MBA), and Illinois (Ph.D.), Dr. Stagliano joined the faculty at Saint Joseph's in 1985 as the first holder of the alumni-endowed Sutula Chair in Accounting, a position he held for ten years. Before coming to Saint Joseph's, Dr. Stagliano was Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Business Legal Studies at GeorgeMasonUniversity in Fairfax, Virginia. He formerly served on the accounting faculty at the University of Illinois and the University of Maryland. His teaching interests are in the areas of taxation and nonprofit accounting. He has been honored with the coveted Tengelmann Lifetime Teaching and Research Award and the Teaching Excellence in Adult Programs Award
