Thomas Bray
Tom Bray earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bucknell University in 1976 and a Masters of Science Degree in Finance from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland in 1986. Tom passed the CPA exam in 1977 on his first attempt focusing on the firm’s practice in public accounting, until accepting financial positions in private industry leading to a Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer position with a technology start-up firm. Tom was ultimately drawn to advisory and consulting services, founding his own company in order to provide varied services ranging from merger and acquisition consultation, financial planning and financial engineering analyses for mid-size growth companies, to income tax planning and preparation. Tom has 40 years of finance and accounting experience, with a strong concentration in tax matters. His tax experience includes working in the tax department of a Big 4 public accounting firm and serving as tax manager of the US operations of an international manufacturing, retail, and real estate group of companies. Like his experience, Tom’s practice has a strong concentration in tax matters in proper context with its clients’ financial and operational needs. Tom maintains his membership in the Maryland Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals. He has represented the Maryland Chamber of Commerce before the Maryland Senate concerning pending tax legislation, has testified in Maryland Tax court as a tax/manufacturing expert, and has represented clients at the IRS National Office in Washington, D.C. Tom is a proficient lecturer on tax matters speaking at client seminars and accounting and Realtor® professional societies. Tom has also been active in civic matters, serving on the boards of the Baltimore Chapter of Institute of Management Accountants and the several charitable organizations. Tom and his wife Roxanne have been married for 37 years. They have one daughter and two grandchildren.
