Alice Reid is President of Compassionate Tax Service, a tax and accounting practice located in historic Reisterstown where she employs 3 people. The business services individuals, small businesses and nonprofits. Prior to opening her own tax practice in 2003 Alice worked in private industry. She has over 25 years experience in finance and administration with both for profit and nonprofit institutions. Early in Alice’s career, she worked for a variety of private industry companies. After ten years working in a corporate climate, Alice secured a position with a small public accounting firm where she served a wide variety of clients from small businesses and individuals to corporations and nonprofits. In addition to her five years experience in public accounting, Alice spent eight years in the public sector and honed her expertise in the nonprofit arena, first working with a local agency, helping them to expand their operations to a national organization and then with an international nonprofit organization where she excelled and was promoted to Director of Finance and Operations. Alice is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, which allows her the same representation privileges as tax attorneys and certified public accountants. Alice believes in giving back to her community. She currently serves as the Treasurer for the ROMG Chamber of Commerce, serving on the board since 2006. She served on the Finance Committee for the International Centers for Spiritual Living and in addition to being in board service for the Maryland Society of Accountants since 2010, she has been a member since 2001.
