Confused about the 2019 W-4? This seminar will provide the tools needed for proper reporting of wages and miscellaneous income. After building the foundation, the speaker will address wage issues, including types of employees, paycheck preparation, employer and employee deposits, penalties, and proper coding of benefits on W-2s. The course will address unique issues with 1099s including samples of forms and sources of both federal and state requirements.

EVENT OBJECTIVE

Upon completion of this class, you will be able to distinguish an independent contractor from an employee and recognize the relief available to employers who misclassify, understand the complexity of the 2019 Form W-4, recognize how to comply with the information reporting including the various 1099 forms and the form W-2, understand the preparation of timely and accurate wage and tax reports and identify taxable vs. tax free compensation.
