EVENT DESCRIPTION
The attendee will gain a better understanding of the most pressing payroll tax issues you may face this year. The course will cover employer compliance requirements for hiring, record keeping and posted information. After building the foundation, the speaker will address wage issues, including types of employees, paycheck preparation, employer and employee deposits, penalties, and proper coding of benefits on W-2s. The course will address unique issues with 1099s including samples of forms and sources of both federal and state requirements.
EVENT OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: Properly classify workers, Identify and maintain the appropriate documentation to be compliant with payroll laws; File for an Employer Identification Number; Properly submit payroll tax deposit payments; Determine if wages classify as income taxable, Social Security, Medicare, and/or FUTA wages; Determine which forms of compensation are subject to various state and federal taxes, , access resources to monitor potential changes in requirements.
