EVENT DESCRIPTION
This course examines the conduct standards within Circular 230. The instructor will present topics on rules governing authority to practice, fees and solicitation of business, requirements to perform professional duties, dealing with conflicts of interest, and restrictions related to practice before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This course fulfills the Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) ethics requirement.
EVENT OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to-Explain the process to someone of how he or she becomes an enrolled agent; Determine what continuing education courses you should take that will meet the requirements established by the IRS; Determine if you meet the requirements to take a position on a tax return; Determine what you should do as a professional when certain situations arise in your practice to ensure that you do not violate the established ethics rules; Avoid actions that would result in sanctions including censure, suspension, or disbarment.
