Christine Giovetti
Christine Giovetti, CPA
Board of Trustees Delegate

Chris has been married to her husband, Al, for 45 years, during which time they raised four children (three girls and a boy), and have run a tax accounting practice together, from their home, first in Towson, MD, and now in Catonsville, MD, for nearly that long. She earned a BA (in Biology) at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (now Randolph College) in Lynchburg, VA, in 1977, and a certificate in Accounting from Catonsville Community College (now the Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville Campus) in 1988. She passed the IRS Special Enrollment Exam in 1984 and the Maryland CPA exam in 1991. She holds both the Accredited Business Accountant and Accredited Tax Advisor credentials from the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT; one of the founders of which was Sidney Weinberg, also a founder of MSATP), as well as its Accredited Retirement Advisor.

A member of MSATP for over 35 years, she served on the Board from 1995-1999 as Secretary, then moved up the line to become president from 2001-2002 (Al also served as president, from 2005-2006). She served as District III Governor of NSA from 2003-2007 (Al followed her as Governor from 2007-2011, and went on to serve as president from 2016-2017). Chris also served as one of two Educator Members on the ACAT board, from 2012-2019, and was Secretary-Treasurer from 2015-2019.

Chris currently serves as chair of MSATP’s Bylaws Committee, and is also a member of the CPR, Membership/Marketing, Nominating, and Strategic Leadership Committees. If the pandemic ever ends, she looks forward to going back to serving as a cantor at St. Mark Church in Catonsville and singing in the church choir.
