Christine Emily McComsey, E.A., to all who know her, lives just North of Richmond, VA. She grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. She is a graduate of the Reformed Episcopal Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. Her initial career was as a counselor at a group home for teenage girls in Richmond, VA. Her math aptitude brought her back into working as a bookkeeper. While working for the owner of three companies (construction, real estate, and real estate rental) she decided to further her education in those industries and obtained her real estate license. She subsequently went to work for a tax preparer and then established her own tax practice in November of 1991. After studying the Enrolled Agent exams for a few years, she decided to apply for and passed the IRS Enrolled Agent exam in 1994. She has been a member of MSATP for more than 20 years and has worked as a volunteer at their seminars for over 15 years. She received her first Fellow designation in 1999. In 2010 she received a member services award. In 2012 she accepted the position as the accountant for a not-for-profit business in Ashland, VA. She also maintains a bookkeeping and tax practice for individuals and small businesses in the greater Richmond area. She values her membership and volunteer work at MSATP and the opportunities it has given her to expand her education and network with other professionals in the industry.
