Bob Boehner is a third-generation accountant, serving south-central Pennsylvania area clients since 1980 when he graduated from Grove City College with a degree in accounting. He began his accounting career by joining his father’s firm as a partner, and that partnership lasted until his father lost his battle with cancer in 1994. Bob operated as a sole proprietor until merging with regional Harrisburg firm Boles, Grove and Metzger in 1996. He obtained his CPA license in 1997. In 2000, BGM spun off its satellite offices and Bob re-established his own office in Gettysburg. What began in 1980 with father, mother, son and secretary grew to a staff of sixteen seasonal, part-time and full-time employees in 2009. Most recently, Bob earned his CFP in 2016.
Bob has served as both Secretary and Treasurer of the Maryland Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals’ Board of Directors. He also serves on the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ South Central Annual Tax Conference committee. Bob is the Treasurer of several non-profit groups, including the Mortgage Servicing Treasurer for Habitat for Humanity in Adams County.
Bob lives in Gettysburg with his wife Paula and 2 daughters, MacKenzie and Camden. Paula works for Gettysburg College in the registrar’s office. Most of Bob and Paula’s free time is spent following Cami, who plays basketball for Bloomsburg University, or watching her serve as a York Thunder assistant AAU coach for Middle School girls over the summer. Previously, Bob coached Middle School boys’ and girls’ basketball and marched with the Hanover Lancers Senior Drum and Bugle Corps in both the horn line and the drum line.
Bob and his team look forward to continuing to offer tax and accounting services but to also offer our clients comprehensive financial planning services with the new resources available.
